I’ve been searching for the perfect dry shampoo for quite some time. I don’t believe “perfect” exists. But, there are definitely some good ones. Dry shampoo might be one of those products that there will never be a consensus on since there are many different hair types and people are looking for different things from their dry shampoo. I have brown, medium length, moderately thick, dry-ish hair. I want my dry shampoo to absorb my sweaty stinky post-workout hair and not have much smell or residue to show for it.
I am not a hair stylist of any kind. I’m just a busy person hoping to save some time by not having to wash my hair every day! I use dry shampoo like this: before I jump in the shower after working out, I spray some dry shampoo on the sweatiest parts of my hair. Then, I put my hair in my Tassi for the shower. When I’m ready to style my hair, I flip it upside down and blow dry for a few seconds to make sure all the sweaty hair is dried and the dry shampoo is absorbed. (TMI?)
This is what I’ve tried so far: (the ones I like are starred)
–Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo– I like this product. But it’s not powerful as a dry shampoo. It seems like a good texture spray to me. (Just like Oribe’s Dry Texturing Spray which is an AMAZING product.)
–Batiste– This is the brand of dry shampoo my daughter & lots of her friends use. They like it!
–Jet Lag Dry Shampoo** – A little goes a long way with this stuff. Start real small. It adds nice volume but is SUPER drying.
–DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo**- Maybe my most often reached for. It does the job. Cleans up my hair, adds volume, and has a smell that is nice and I don’t notice much.
–Pssst! Dry Shampoo** – This is the most affordable and does a great job. I need to use a bit more of it, but I’m happy to since it’s so cheap!
–Ouai Foaming Dry Shampoo**– The foaming aspect is cool. I like this one. The only down side is it didn’t add much volume for me.
-Orlando Pita Dry Shampoo
-Suave Dry Shampoo
–Living Proof Dry Shampoo**– This is one Linley uses regularly.
