I love retinol

I am not a skin expert, but I really care about how my skin looks. I'm the oldest on The Buy Guide (TBG) team, and I've tried more products than I'd care to admit. I've struggled with adult acne,  worried about sun damage, and I want to fight those wrinkles the best I can. After so many failed attempts, I feel like I've finally found what works for my face! Adding a retinol product has made the biggest difference. The acne has cleared up, the tone and texture has improved, and some of my wrinkle lines are softening.  I want to be clear that nothing we've shared on this site is sponsored. We are actually just picking our tried & true favorites. *You should always start slow when adding a retinol product to your skin regimen. Some people start every 2 nights for the first couple weeks and slowly build until they can use it nightly. If you have questions, ask your favorite skin expert *

This is the retinol I use (and LOVE). I use it every night. It's good stuff and I don't ever want to live without it. I've tried prescription retin-A before, and I did NOT like the way it made my skin feel. It made me think retinol wasn't for me. But this miracle serum changed my mind completely.

A little goes a long way, but it is still spendy. My dermatologist suggested that I could also use some retinol on my chest and on the back of my hands. (To help reverse sun damage and to help that skin look as cared for as my face is.) The problem with that is that I didn't want to go through my expensive retinol any quicker than I already do. So I went searching for a less expensive option. And I found it!

This retinol was suggested by friends and a few you-tubers. Then I read all the amazing reviews on Amazon and wanted to try. I've had this product for about 2 months. I put it on my chest and hands every night and I know it sounds crazy but I think I already see a difference! It's 1/4 the cost of my other retinol. I'm so happy to have found some nightly hand cream that doesn't only help my skin feel better, but is making it LOOK better too. Most of the amazon reviewers are using it on their faces - if you try it, let us know how it works for you!

Winter time is a great time to start using a retinol product. Retinol will make your skin more sensitive to sun, so be sure to ALWAYS wear sunscreen (even in winter). This is my favorite daily sunscreen for my face. I live in a sunny place and I put this on every.single.day. (often twice)

Cheers to great skin! Xo, Ashlee
